One of the most profound gifts that we can give our children is to teach them to pray. It is such an honor that the God of the entire universe wants to have a RELATIONSHIP with us. And this relationship can only happen through prayer, communing with God… I believe one of the best ways we can encourage our children to have a relationship with Jesus is to teach them to pray. And the best way to teach them to pray is to pray with our children.

Your Teens
In Their Identity
In Christ
Mindy Hite is a first-time author and close friend of mine who is writing an amazing fictional series that will encourage our teens in their true identity and inspire them to be beacons of light in a hurting and broken world. Mindy’s first book is now out to the public, and I had the privilege of asking Mindy some questions about her book. Here are some great truths to discuss with your teen(s) when reading this book together.
One of the things I enjoy most is picking out the perfect gift. I want the gift to leave a lasting impression on both mom and baby, whether practical or sentimental. Gifts that plant seeds of faith and teach little ones how special they are to God are by far some of the most precious treasures they will ever receive. Here are a few gift ideas to make an eternal impact the next time you are looking for just the right gift for a baby shower.
What do you want your children to look like when they are grown? Do you desire for them to be focused on success, materialism, and entertainment? Or do you want them to be living in communion with God and raising your grandchildren to live for the Lord as well?
Living in today’s modern world, we have a great number of parenting websites, blogs, and resources available at the tip of our fingers. While this can be a good thing for so many reasons, it can also feel like searching for precious gems amidst the rocks and debris surrounding them, and then determining if the gems truly hold value.
We desire to fill our kids with ideas that will build them up in their faith and character, not bring them down. But with so many “feel good” yet “not so good” movie options, and the pull from our culture to watch them, it makes it difficult to know how to handle the entertainment world as a Christian parent.
Here are a few suggestions when deciding whether to let your children watch a movie…
One way we can encourage our kids in their faith, character, and love for Jesus is by letting them watch good Christian movies with a Biblical message. Kids are drawn to screens, whether we like it or not, so what better way to encourage them by providing a message of truth rather than one full of the world’s lies?
My next interview is with Kelly, our pastor’s wife and wonderful mom of three amazing boys, ages 12, 14, and 17. Her kids have attended public school for the past eleven years, and she has a passion to encourage her kids in their relationship with the Lord. Kelly, thank you for sharing your public school experiences with us!
Over the past several months, I have been sharing about different educational models and how you can use them to encourage your kids in their faith and character. This month I have interviewed Julia, a mom who has raised two wonderful kids who follow the Lord and are now in college and graduate school. She has had some insightful experiences when her kids attended Christian private schools that she is going to share with us.
Over the next several months I will be sharing about different educational models and how they can help encourage you in growing your kids for God’s kingdom….Another great educational model, a model that we love and currently use with our family, is the University Model®.
