This month we are looking at how Jesus built close relationships with his disciples, and we discussed ways to spend quality time with our kids. Now let’s look at three ways Jesus spoke words of life to His followers.

Today we are going to look closer at how we can keep our kids rooted in God’s Word and a relationship with Him.
“A farmer went out to sow his seed….Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.” Matthew 13:3, 5-6 (NIV) This month we are looking at the seed that fell on the rocky places and how that seed sprang up quickly because it had little soil. When the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they hadn’t developed roots… So how do we provide good soil for our kids?

This month we will look at how Jesus built close relationships with his disciples and earned their trust. First, let’s look at three ways Jesus built close friendships with his followers.
We have already looked at how to give our kids good soil, help them hear and understand God’s Word, and persevere under trials, but we have not yet looked at teaching our kids to have a noble and good heart.
For our children to receive God’s Word (the seed) and produce a crop, they need a noble and good heart.

This month we are discussing the seed that fell among the thorns and was choked. So, what are these thorns that could choke our kids spiritually? In the second description of the thorn, Jesus talks about riches and pleasures making people unfruitful. These thorns are choking our kids’ spiritual life and preventing them from maturing in their faith.

This week we will discuss ways to prevent the scorching heat from withering our children.
